Lang/Durham’s public relations team has performed some amazing feats in the last 15 years, for clients of all shapes and sizes, in a variety of industries.
- Media Relations Our staff is skilled at crafting stories that get attention. And we mean attention. Not just small mentions in an obscure part of the paper, but front page, above-the-fold newspaper coverage, exclusive radio interviews, network news coverage and segments on television news magazines.
- Attracting Media Attention on a Budget Even on a shoestring budget, Lang/Durham can attract major media attention and control the craziest of situations. For the grand opening of the Goodwin Hotel, we “hired” two penguins from SeaWorld to make a media splash. From the moment they stepped out of their limo and walked into the Goodwin for a 4-day stay, the media was captivated and our client received remarkable coverage.
- Event Planning Whether hosting a breakfast seminar, sales meeting or grand opening, Lang/Durham has the expertise to not only plan the event and get publicity, but also to plan for the inevitable obstacles that arise. We’ve recently handled victory parades for the UCONN men and women’s basketball teams in 1999, 2000 and 2002, which attracted more than 250,000 people to downtown Hartford .
- Strategic Campaigns From executing water conservation campaigns for the Metropolitan District Commission to encouraging responsible summer energy use for The United Illuminating Company, we have a knack for bringing together various components and developing a campaign that has genuine impact.
- Crisis Communications We have developed crisis communications plans for a number of our clients and have conducted training seminars on working with the media all media.
